VISITING FRIENDS AND A TRIP TO THE ER

This has been a crazy week! Our friend Josh came out to visit us from Arizona! He was supposed to be here Last week Friday, but his plane was delayed and he didn't end up getting here until Saturday afternoon. We had a great time visiting though! I brought Josh back to the airport on Wednesday, but he wasn't feeling well and on half way between here and Charlotte he wanted to to the ER to have it checked out. 5 or so hours later we left the ER, not knowing much and he had to reschedule his flight for Thursday. Long story short- he's back in Flagstaff and feeling better.

Chris and I have had lots of homework to catch up on after slacking while Josh was here. We are frantically trying to get everything done because we are going to Columbus, OH this weekend to see Chris' brother and mom, and go to the WI/OSU game! I'm so excited!

Other than that, I have found another student to tutor. A 2nd grade boy who actually lives in the same complex as we do. I finished my orientation to start subbing in the school district. Chris' boss has challenged his center to do 500 more units a week! He thinks they can do it though.

We are loving the warm weather- especially as it gets colder in the midwest :)

Hi Everyone!

Things are in full swing for us now. We are both taking classes, and I just started a tutoring job. I'll be working with two boys that are homeschooled. Their mom has been looking for someone to work with them for a couple hours a week. I met the mom and two boys last week and felt really comfortable with the whole situation.

Last weekend Chris and I went to Charlotte to help our friend Jon move into a new place. We spent the whole day up there, and Jake was pretty excited because he got to go!

Hi all,

Chris and I have spent the last two weekends camping at Lake Murray. The lake is about 30 miles outside the city. It's a huge lake! We've been lucky enough to get tent sites right on the water. Jake tried his hand at swimming for the first time, and I really thought he would like it... but he is more or less survival swimming.
We forced him a few times, but he wasn't too into it.

Last weekend we ended up meeting some people from Charleston who were camping next to us. They had a dog for Jake to run around and play with, and they got a big kick out of watching him attempt to swim. They are big campers and so they were giving us all the good places around the state to go and camp. We ended up hanging out with them for the whole weekend and sitting around the fire with a few drinks and s'mores. Chris and I have been talking about getting kayaks and they had some inflatable ones that they let us try (which are much cheaper than real kayaks). We exchanged information so hopefully we can all meet up again somewhere to camp!

New Adventures

Hi Guys,

I probably won't be able to keep this up, but with so many of our friends and family all over the place, I thought we could keep everyone up to date with a blog. We'll see how it goes...

Well, as many of you know, Chris and I moved to Columbia, SC this summer. Chris got a promotion and his company transfered him here. He still works for ZLB plasma and is now the center manager. He's been working hard for over a year now on his masters in healthcare administration. So far he is liking the new job a lot and being the boss is definitely fitting him well. I was really sad to leave to Lawrence which I ended up liking so much more than I thought. I was at such a wonderful school and I will take those lessons with me. But in the end, I know this is what was right for us and we are making the best of it :)

Its been hard to be away from family and friends, but we are really looking forward to getting into a routine here. The transition has been so much easier with all the visitors we have had this summer! I lived in Kansas for 2 years and have had more visitors here in 3 months than I did in Kansas!

Chris and I just celebrated our first wedding anniversary! We celebrated by going to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina! It is so beautiful there! We spent most of the weekend relaxing on the beach. We enjoyed a night out to a fun lounge restaurant and then went to a jazz club on Saturday night for some great live music! I can't believe its been year already!

Hopefully, I'll stay up on updating this thing and we can keep all our friends and family in the loop :)

Love all you guys!
